Lexus + Vogue
Silver - MediaPost Awards
The Lexus CT Hybrid is 90% recyclable. To tell this story, we dismantled a new model and partnered with Vogue to commission four high-profile fashion designers to recycle the car in the most imaginative way possible.
The Lexus Fashion Workshop
This is what they created:
The Environmental Crown of Virtue – Designed by Moss Lipow using infinitely recyclable plastics, the Lexus Hybrid Drive transmission starter and exhaust manifold gasket.
The Valve Collection – Designed by Eddie Borgo using valve lifters, crank bearings and hose clamps.
Nomadic Sanctuary – A sleek trench coat, shorts and clutch designed by John Patrick, featuring floor mats made from plant-based plastic, sustainable sound-dampening material, wire harness, airbags, leather seat covers and cargo covers.
The Luna Shoe — Created by Alejandro Ingelmo using armrest leather trim, tire tread and clear plastic tubing used for wiper fluid.
PRINT: Six-Page Spread, Vogue
The collection was featured in Vogue's end of year issue.
The four fashion pieces were put on display at the Art Basel Exhibition in Miami Beach, FL, and they were auctioned off for charity. All of the proceeds benefited the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund, a not-for-profit trade association.
